Place-Based Mental Health: Context Responsive Teacher Intervision Groups

This descriptive workshop will introduce participants to the Teacher Intervision Group to Enhance Resilience (TIGER) model of teacher mental health support. Participants will learn how they can use this highly interactive and experiential model to support educator wellness in ways that honour and incorporate their local contexts.

    I am the school counsellor in Valemount, BC where I work half-time at the elementary school and half-time at the secondary. I have a PhD in Health Sciences wherein I researched teacher resilience. I am an advocate for small and rural places and believe that mental health is best supported when we can share our experiences and be supported in ways that are individually supportive and collectively meaningful.
