Join us on one of our Explorer Days - a salmon focused event where we will learn how wondrous and important salmon are. Through games, activities and a citizen science data collection event, we will have a hands-on session outside and give you salmon focused resources and ideas to take back to your classrooms and communities.
I grew up in the Shuswap and feel connected to our place and would like to organize activities that help us learn more about the Shuswap. I studied Biology and Environmental Studies at UVic. My love for adventure and the outdoors lead me to a career as an Outdoor educator working for Outward Bound. I worked mostly in Maine, U.S.A. but also in Thailand, N. Vancouver Island, and finally in Hong Kong. In recent years while completing my Education degree I have developed a growing passion for place-based education. I was a leader for the Vancouver Young Naturalists club and believe that NatureKids BC helps families to build stronger connections with nature together.
Christina is responsible for volunteer engagement and program management of our nature club leadership network, ensuring the organization provides the best possible experience for its volunteers and members. She also champions nature clubs in communities across BC, and recruits, supports and manages the many volunteer nature club leaders through coaching, mentorship and communications. Christina has a degree in biology and a background in planning and delivering outdoor adventure tours and leading expeditions. She is thrilled to be part of the NatureKids team and community, getting children and their families out exploring and learning in our beautiful Big Backyard, and building the next generation of nature lovers and stewards.
